Effective June 1, 2026 for ECNL, ECNL RL & Pre-ECNL
Overview: How the Systems Work Together
Starting June 1, 2026, your ECNL registration process will use both GotSport and Athlete One. To keep your club running smoothly, here is exactly how the two platforms divide the workload:
- GotSport (The Compliance Gateway):
You will use GotSport to handle official US Club requirements, including initial player/staff entry and US Club payments. - Athlete One (Your Command Center):
Athlete One remains the core engine for running your club. You will continue to rely on Athlete One for all daily operations, including ECNL League Registration, club-wide billing, rostering, scheduling, and game day management.
Step-by-Step Carding Workflows
Player Registration Flow (US Club Soccer & ECNL)
- Initiate US Club Soccer Compliance (GotSport): Register all players into the ECNL event through GotSport and submit them for their US Club Soccer card, including the US Club Soccer fee.
- Automatic Status Sync: Once players are approved by US Club Soccer, their status in the Associations section of Athlete One will automatically update to Completed. Once both US Club Soccer and ECNL requirements are completed the player will show as Eligible under ECNL Status.
- Finalize ECNL Approval (Athlete One): Submit your ECNL Eligible players in Association for their ECNL registration and complete the $36 ECNL card payment. Their status will instantly change to Approved, and their ECNL card will be officially issued.
- Game Day Rostering (Athlete One): Once a player shows as Approved, they are cleared and ready to be added to your active ECNL match rosters through the ECNL mobile app.
Staff Registration Flow (US Club Soccer & ECNL)
- Initiate US Club Soccer Compliance (GotSport): Register all staff into the ECNL event through GotSport and submit them for their US Club Soccer card, including the US Club Soccer fee.
- Automatic Status Sync: Once the staff member is approved by US Club Soccer, their status in the Associations section of Athlete One will automatically update to Approved.
- Note: All ECNL and ECNL RL coaches are required to complete their hours of CPD coursework in the ECNL Coach Education Center, powered by The Coaches’ Voice before ECNL competition.
